Art Test

These are the renders that I completed for an Art Test. The top image is the full render with lighting from 3D Max. The following 2 pieces are a grey material render, and also a wireframe to show the structure of the model. The model was created using 1,410 Polygons, or 2,999 Triangles (had to be 3,000 or less). The final image is a composite of the textures that I used in creating the final render of the building. Each square is 512x512 pixels.Friday, October 8, 2010

3D Model Update
I still have some texture unwrapping to do, as well as adding some extra things to really make it pop some more. I have around 180 or so triangles left to add to make it within the 3,000 triangle limit. The below image is just after I had started, before adding the rock wall at the bottom and really fleshing out the back portion of the model.Friday, September 24, 2010

Mountain Sky and Process to get there

I first posted this sketch on my sketchblog and liked the layout, so I though I might try to do a little more of a paintover and try to add detail. To get to the above image, I first loaded up my sketch, then overlayed some detail from an earlier piece I did (above far left) on the mountain. After that I painted in the snow look, and finally added the 3 following pictures in various layer modes. I tweaked them as well, taking pieces out and sizing them until I liked the outcome.Wednesday, September 1, 2010
New Header for the Sketchblog
I added a different header to my Sketchblog. It is a combination of sketches I made with the Sharpie Fine tip pen, and overlayed in photoshop.

Leaves on Both Trees

Here's a few shots of my trees with leaves on them. This was practice for filling out trees using two different type of leaf texturing options. They have a higher number of polygons than I need to shoot for, so while they look decent enough, I need to cut down the number of leaves that I use to fill them out.Thursday, August 26, 2010
